WIT - Margaret Edson

VENUE: Hopgood Theatre Little Theatre (Lecture Theatre)

WIT - a play about God, Death, Poetry. And Bunnies.

Newly established southern area performance group, PERSPECTIVE ARTS THEATRE COMPANY, brings Margaret Edson’s highly acclaimed and much-loved Pulitzer Prize-winning play “WIT” to the Hopgood Theatre in May 2026.

“WIT” is the powerful story of highly successful scholar, Professor Vivian Bearing, facing her most profound challenge, as her life’s work and convictions are brought harshly into question by the simple realities of life and mortality.

Starring local legend Elizabeth Bentley (TASA Award nominee for best actor) and directed by Critics Circle award winner Harry Dewar (Cooper Award for “The Royal Hunt of the Sun”), “WIT” promises to entertain you, to move you, and finally to elevate you.

This is the maiden production for PATC and a first also for The Hopgood, as “WIT” will take the stage, not of the well-known and much-admired main Hopgood auditorium, but the smaller, intimate, newly-acquired second space, formerly a TAFE lecture theatre, now refurbished as Hopgood’s “Little Theatre”. Don’t miss this chance to be one of the first to see a great play in this excellent new space!
